An unusual antique piece, is it a table or is it a chair? You decide!

Perfect for use as a side table day to day, pop up the back and you have an extra seat in your living room. Of useful as a hall chair or a bedside in a guest room.

Made from solid hardwood likely oak and carved with heraldic symbolism.

The back is heavily carved, perhaps of a knight? Definitely a coat of arms. The stretcher has a rose carved and the sides have fleur de lis. These have a beautiful patina.

The top has no carving so can be used as a table.

The back is raised and lowered with hinges and is self supporting.

Condition report:
Structurally sound, no evidence of woodworm. Lots of patina consistent with age.
