About us!

We are Katie & Paul. We are the faces behind Roosters Furniture.

We are a married couple and live in Wimborne, Dorset and have 3 children and a couple of labradors.

People often ask how we came to be furniture painters and that is an incredibly hard question to answer! We certainly didn't wake up one morning and decide that's what we were going to do, it was more of a gradual evoloution!

Katie has a background in retail management, a love of all things vintage (probably caused in childhood by her parents spending weekends scouring antique shops) and a strong desire to reduce waste. She painted her first piece of furniture 30 years ago when furnishing her first home on a budget, around 10 years ago she began doing the odd piece for friends and to sell and has now been painting furniture full time for 6 years. She is also in charge of the all things 'online', customer liasing, organising supplies, deliveries, accounts and trying to keep Paul in line!

Paul is an incredibly talented artist, but his biggest love is paint. He can talk about it non stop (be warned, don't get him started on the subject) and he is always covered in it!  An interesting career has seen him paint everything from beautiful traditional sign writing, spraying supercars, faux marbling on pillars in Harrods, spray fades on super yachts and even decoraring a Stately home with everything and anything inbetween! Paul is in charge of moving furniture around, driving the van, all of our furniture repairs, king of the filler and quality control (telling Katie it's not good enough for Roosters name and to do it again is his speciality!) 

Our aim is to create beautiful furniture for descerning homes from pieces already in existence, being forever mindful of our environment and trying to support other small businesses along the way!
