This is well used piece, full of patina which can only be achieved by decades of use. Expect marks, dinks and ink splodges! It remains structurally sound though.
Made for the teacher to stand at the front of the class- most likely for the headteacher. It is the perfect height for standing. There is a lift up lid to the top and a cupboard to the front which would have faced the class. The keys have been lost in time.
Most remarkably though it still has a cane hanging from a hook on the side! This is going to be a real talking point whether you are looking for a decorative piece for your home, a Maitre D desk for your restaurant or just looking for a desk to stand at while you WFH.
