A very early G Plan sideboard from the Librenza range of furniture. This range often referred to as ‘Tola and Black’ was designed in 1958 and made in Britain until the mid sixties from Tola an African Mahogany with ebonized legs.
This is a solid and substantial piece of furniture that I have no doubt will still be around in another 60 + years!
There are twin bi-fold doors, state of the art in the 1950’s! Behind which, are 3 separate compartments for storage. 2 of which have an adjustable shelf.
Above this are three drawers one of which has black velvet lined cutlery compartments.
Sitting proudly above these is the top which appears to float, a truly iconic design.
This all sits on ebonized legs, professionally painted in Benjamin Moore ‘Onyx’
The original brass feet have been polished and are adjustable for uneven floors.
The original brass handles have been polished.
This has been professionally refurbished to an exceptional standard in our workshop. This piece is now almost flawless and could easily be taken as a new piece of furniture.
We have used Osmo oil in a matt finish to ensure durability of this fabulous piece of furniture.
