Vintage Ercol 865A Armchair (Carver) – Elm & Beech – c.1985–1992 – Excellent Condition

A beautiful and increasingly hard-to-find Ercol Model 865A armchair, made in High Wycombe, England and dating to the mid 1980s–early 1990s.

This is the larger carver version of the classic 365 dining chair — slightly wider, taller, and featuring an additional spindle to the back for that unmistakable Ercol silhouette.

Crafted in solid elm and beech, with the rich, darker finish typical of late 80s production. The grain to the seat is particularly lovely.

We have cleaned and carefully polished this chair in the Roosters workshop and it presents beautifully.

Condition:
• Structurally solid
• No loose joints
• Arms smooth and tidy
• Only very minor age-related signs of use
• Original gold Ercol label and green quality control badge present

At 100cm high, this makes a superb head-of-table chair, desk chair, or occasional statement piece.
These carvers are considerably rarer than the standard dining chairs and are becoming increasingly sought after.
